Texas enters this initial collection through a recording connection and a historical one. Colter Wall’s Little Songs was recorded at Yellowdog Studios in Texas. The Outlaws & Armadillos museum project, meanwhile, traces an exchange between Austin and Nashville in the 1970s. These are two different ways for a place to matter to music.

Follow the album route to the musicians and the historical route to the museum’s account. Recording a Canadian artist in Texas does not make that artist Texas-born; a scene page should preserve that distinction. Locations become clearer when each connection is named.
