The short version

The site can collect an email address only when you ask to join The Weekly Twang. Confirmation is required before subscription. We record your consent, signup source, and subscription state so we can honor unsubscribe requests.

Audience measurement

When enabled, first-party analytics records page views, page paths, content interactions, reading depth, and allowlisted campaign labels. It does not store raw IP addresses, fingerprint devices, or send email addresses to analytics. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honored.

Abuse prevention uses short-lived hashed network identifiers in rate-limit counters. Editorial sign-in uses a necessary secure session cookie. Public reading does not require an account. When analytics is enabled, a local timestamp approximates return visits and session storage retains allowlisted campaign labels; neither contains a visitor identifier.

Email delivery

When newsletter signup is available, Resend delivers subscription confirmation emails. Your email address and the message content are shared with Resend for delivery. Confirming joins the early list for our planned weekly newsletter; regular editions have not started yet.

Control and retention

Unsubscribe using the link in your confirmation or newsletter email. We keep subscription status and consent history to record your choice and honor unsubscribe requests.
