THE ARTIST / EDITORIAL PROFILE
Shawnee Kish is a Two-Spirit Indigenous artist whose country work belongs to a longer recording career. Her official discography includes Shawnee Kish from 2021, Revolution from 2023 and Chapter 1 from 2025. Her biography identifies Chapter 1 with her move into country music. That is the context for including her in Next Up: a developing country chapter from an artist who already has a body of work.
Kish represented Edmonton, Alberta in the 2026 SiriusXM Top of the Country competition. She reached the final three with Morgan Griffiths and Blue Ridge Band, then received a $10,000 runner-up prize following the Saskatoon finale. SiriusXM and the CCMA announced that result on September 17. Her competition page features “Ride at Dawn,” and her own music page includes the song among its featured recordings.
Chapter 1 also appears on the official 2026 CCMA nominee list for Alternative Country Album of the Year. The album and the competition provide complementary starting points: one is a complete recorded project, while the other is a specific performance. They should be understood as separate pieces of her career rather than interchangeable award results.
Begin with the Ride at Dawn performance, continue through Chapter 1, and then explore the earlier releases listed on her official music page. This route leaves room to hear how the work develops across projects. The same page also features “Ride The River” for listeners who want another song to follow.

Each count carries its available observation or catalog update date. Platform audiences overlap, and monthly listeners are a rolling audience rather than daily streams. Missing observations are not zero.
