THE BUSINESS BEHIND THE ARTIST
No verified team record here yet. Representation is unknown until an official announcement or roster confirms it.
Ken Pomeroy is a Cherokee singer-songwriter raised in Moore, Oklahoma. Her official biography describes songwriting as a way of working through experience, and her catalog offers several routes into that approach. The Americana Music Association named her a 2026 Emerging Act of the Year nominee and also nominated Cruel Joke for Album of the Year. She appears on the official AMERICANAFEST 2026 showcase list.
Cruel Joke arrived on May 16, 2025 through Rounder Records. For a single-song introduction, try Coyote, her collaboration with fellow Oklahoma songwriter John Moreland. Pomeroy’s biography connects the song’s animal imagery with Native storytelling and her own self-reflection. Her discography also reaches back to Christmas Lights in April in 2021; this is an artist building a body of work, rather than someone who began writing with an awards nomination.
Tonight’s News, released August 21, 2026, adds a different entry point. Rounder describes a six-song collection recorded in one day at Chicago’s Wilco Loft with producer Tom Schick, performed live without overdubs. Its selections include Look at Miss Ohio, This Old Guitar and Late for the Sky.
Start with an original song, then follow it with a selection from Tonight’s News. That pairing gives a new listener a practical way to explore both Pomeroy’s songwriting and the material she chose to reinterpret. Her official music page links the recordings and documents their release dates.
